WHAT TO EXPECT

Before your procedure begins, a topical anesthetic cream may be used on the areas to be treated. With Dr. Shaw's core training as a general and cosmetic dentist, she can also expertly administer a painless dental block, achieving widespread numbing of the skin to keep you comfortable, if you prefer. Once sufficiently numbed, a tiny needle is used to inject a small amount of the dermal filler into the skin to "fill" the wrinkles, folds and improve facial contouring. The procedure takes about 30-45 minutes with minimal discomfort. Results are immediate. Dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with Botox and Dysport to enhance the life of results and complete the whole picture.
